Corner Drug Hometown Pharmacy is the longest running retail establishment in Baraboo. It was founded in 1855 by Dr. Benjamin F. Mills and Dr. Charles Cowles at 100 Third Street. By 1890 (after a few changes of ownership), the name "Corner Drug" became official under Koch & Whitman. The store changed owners a few more times before Janet Fritsch purchased the business on January 1, 1993. Corner Drug remains the only independent pharmacy in Baraboo after purchasing Thompson Drug in 1995 and Troyer Rexall Drug in 1997. In 2012, Janet purchased Corner Drug Clinic Pharmacy from Dean Health, located in the SSM Health Clinic in Baraboo, and has had both locations operating since then. In 2016, Corner Drug Pharmacy partnered with Hometown Pharmacy, at both locations, to better serve their patients and new patients as well.

Corner Drug Hometown Pharmacy strives to be very involved in the community including selling tickets for events and having information for area happenings. Many of their employees are involved in community groups so they also sponsor many events for local organizations and parades.

Hi, I'm Janet Fristch. I graduated from UW-Madison in 1987. I have owned Hometown Pharmacy (formerly Corner Drug) in Baraboo for over 25 years. I'm passionate about helping patients with their healthcare. I especially enjoy developing relationships with my patients.

Previously, I've served on the Board of Directors of the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin. I also was awarded the Citation of Merit from the UW School of Pharmacy in 2016, and the Good government Award form PSW in 2018. I currently serve on the Governor's Task Force on Reducing Prescription Drug Prices. I also enjoy my role as treasurer at my church in Baraboo. I have 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren. My favorite activity is spending time with my grandchildren. Sleepovers at Grandma's house are a special treat enjoyed by all!
